Arthur Edward Waite (1857 - 1942) was a mystic whose writings focused on the occult. He designed and co-creator of the world's most popular tarot deck - the Rider Waite Smith. Pamela Colman Smith (1878-1951) was a British artist, illustrator, writer and occultist. She is best-known for illustrating the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck in collaboration with Arthur Waite. She received little recognition for her contributions to the deck and her name was left off most editions.
